Before I teach you various tricks, I'm going to explain a bit about how to name files.

How to add names

We just made the last page with the name "index.html",
but for example, you could make a profile page by using "profile.html".

Hey, can't I use non-English characters in the file name?

You have to use standard English characters in the filename, Mr. Buttobi. Accented vowels, special characters and so forth
Basically, nothing else is allowed.

  OK: profile.html    NG: profile.html     NG: prof!le.html

Can you tell the difference between these three??

Umm... the one on the right has an exclamation mark in it... but what's the one in the middle??
The one in the middle has an accented i.

Eh!? How am I supposed to tell!?

Yeah, it's hard to tell, and when the file with a non-standard character won't display you're not going to understand why.
It's hard to imagine how just one letter could be a non-standard character, but be careful when you're putting numbers and other characters in the filename that they're standard English characters too.

  OK!

Also, it's best to be careful about whether the filenames are in uppercase or lowercase.
On the internet, upper and lowercase are recognized as different files, for example...
Buttobi.html / buttobi.html

These two will show two completely different pages.

So that you don't get confused later on, it's best to put the filenames all in lowercase.

  OK.
Pausing and restarting homepage creation

If you're in the middle of making a homepage and realize "Oh, is it that late already?! I've got school tomorrow so I better go to sleep!", all you have to do is save Note Pad and close it.

What do you think you should do when you want to continue editing the page from where you left off?

Well if I just double-click on the HTML file...
Ahh.. the page opened in the browser.

With the page still open, try right-clicking on it.
There's an option called "Show Source", right? (Windows)

If you click this Note Pad will open and you can continue editing the contents of your homepage from where you left off.

Ah ah... so to start from where you left off,
"Open the file -> Right-Click -> Show Source"...
I'll note this down.

That's probably the main thing you need to be careful about.
From the next page we'll start making your page look stylish using lots of different magic words.

  Yeah! I'm so excited!
